Jane's Walks Again This Weekend
This is your irregularly-scheduled reminder that Jane's Walks are happening this weekend. This year I guess each region has its own website, so you can find Waterloo Region walks here: https://janeswalkwr.wordpress.com .
If any university students are reading this, they should definitely consider attending a walk or two. Jane's Walks are a great opportunity to learn more about the region where you go to school.
I like Jane's Walks because they are mostly grassroots efforts. Even the ones led by politicians often have a grassroots feel. However, this means that quality is inconsistent. Sometimes the walks are educational, and sometimes they are very preachy. I dislike the preachier ones. With that in mind, here are some of the walks I consider to be safer bets:
- Saturday, 1pm: Growing Up in West Galt
- Saturday, 10am: 150 Years in Mount Hope Cemetary
- Saturday, 2pm: A Heritage Walking Tour of Bridgeport West
- Friday, 1:30pm, Sunday, 1:30pm: Rock Around Uptown Waterloo
Be sure to wear sun protection and rain protection. Dress appropriately for the weather.
