Jane's Walks: May 2-5
It's almost May again, so Jane's Walk weekend is coming up. Instead of posting at the last minute I figured I would direct you to the website a little early: https://janeswalkwr.wordpress.com/2019walks/ .
I have attended some good walks and some tedious preachy ones. Predicting which ones will be which is an inexact science. Some safer bets are:
- Sat, May 4, 1-2:30pm: 100 Years of History in Kitchener Mount Hope Cemetary
- Sat, May 4, 2-3pm: Bridgeport Grand River Valley Natural Heritage Walk
- Sun, May 5, 11am-12pm: Tour of Historic Rockway Gardens
- Sun, May 5, 1:30-3pm: Peter Russell Rock Garden (led by Peter Russell. Surprisingly engaging.)
- Sun, May 5, 2-3pm: Welcome to Cambridge Stroll
There are also many unsafe bets that are worth checking out.
Overall I feel that Jane's Walks are good ways to become familiar with Waterloo Region. They are especially helpful for those who are new to the region (e.g. students).
